How the building is used now

The Mansfield Traquair Trust was formed in 1993 as a single-building preservation trust to undertake the rescue and restoration of the building and the murals. The Trustees bring a wealth of experience in the fields of art, architecture, history of art and architecture, fund-raising, the conservation and reuse of historic buildings, project and building management.

Growing awareness of the importance of the work of Phoebe Anna Traquair and local concern over proposals for uses unsympathetic to the building and detrimental to the amenity of the area led in 1992 to the formation of the community based Friends of Mansfield Place Church to campaign for the rescue of the building.

Tenants of the Trust and based in the Mansfield Traquair Centre, the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations is the national body for Scotland’s charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. SCVO staff work closely with the Friends on arrangements to show the murals during and out of working hours.
